El Palmeral is the perfect ‘get away from it all’ venue, just outside the village of La Hoya (sometimes spelt La Foia), near Elche in SE Spain. El Palmeral is within 20 minutes of the beaches of the Costa Blanca and Alicante Airport. The house is within private, walled gardens, with swimming pool, bar and plenty of space to spend by yourself just ‘being’ or to enjoy the company of others.
There is generous indoor space including the spacious Lounge with wood-burning stove,the Library, the Dining Room, the Lobby and the first floor Gallery. Away from the main house and across the Pool Terrace is the Studio Bar. Depending on the type of house rental, this can also be enjoyed as a creative workshop, a performance venue, a games room or a relaxed meeting area. The 16 metre Pool is comfortable between approximately May and October and open the rest of the year for those hardy souls brought up on summer holidays in the UK with accompanying sea temperatures. The Pool Terrace with the warm climate and cooling breezes mean guests can relax in the sun throughout much of year. The Patio, overlooking the pool, is often the venue for alfresco wining and dining.
The Gardens are filled with mature fruit, olive and palm trees and tall cactuses, and also include an area we call the Journey, an audio/visual/kinaesthetic experience for guests as an introduction to personal reflection, something we never seem to have time for in our busy lives. There are sheltered seating areas and garden paths that meander through the variety of fruit and Palm trees. Around the back of the house there is a Chapel and secluded shady Courtyard.
